NEW: 11 cholera deaths recorded

Zimbabwe has recorded 11 cholera deaths to date out of the 1 801 cases reported, reflecting a case fatality rate of 0,69 percent, according to latest official figures.

As at May 30 2023, Zimbabwe had recorded 1 801 cases, 1 644 recoveries and 11 deaths.

“The highest numbers of cholera cases have been reported in Manicaland Province with 696 cases, and Harare Province with 546 cases,” reads the latest update report from the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Cholera confirmed deaths have been recorded in Manicaland (four), Mashonaland Central (two), Mashonaland West (one), Masvingo (one) and Harare (three).

Only Matabeleland North province remains unaffected by the cholera outbreak.
