AT least 20 homesteads in Maunze Village of Mutasa District have benefited from electricity installation with the assistance of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) as efforts to light up rural communities continue.

A community representative, Mr Edward Mubare, said collaborative efforts by villagers to electrify the area were finally paying off.

“After years of hard work, unity of purpose and collective efforts, we finally managed to have electricity installed at 20 homesteads in Maunze Village. After raising enough funds for internal wiring, REA assisted us with the connections after we paid up. We are excited about this development as we can now venture into other projects that require electricity,” he said.

Mr Mubare added that 60 other households were recently inspected and pegged in preparation for connection.

REA has significantly contributed to providing electricity infrastructure to rural communities to enhance growth and development.
