The Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ) on Tuesday honoured 40 Under-40 Most Influential Young Leaders in Harare.

Among those who received the award were Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Minister Kirsty Coventry, her deputy Mr Tinoda Machakaire and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Dr John Basera.

The annual awards recognise young outstanding leaders who contribute to economic growth.

ICDZ head of membership and training for the Under-40 Most Influential Young Leaders in Zimbabwe, Mrs Chengetai Ndudzo, said the awards were initiated to recognise and appreciate exceptional young business leaders.

“These young leaders have exhibited innovativeness and astuteness in the midst of challenging times.

“They seized and pursued commercial opportunities that have made their organisations realise sustainable growth,” she said.

“They have evidently committed to make Zimbabwe an upper middle-income economy by 2030.”
