Positioning brand Zimbabwe regionally and globally can accelerate the country’s national development, branding consultant Mr Walter Chimene has said.

Mr Chimene said this during the SADC conversion window dialogue in Harare on Thursday.

“Nation branding must not be about assumptions. People must know who we are and what we are about,” he said.

“We have many people in parts of the world who are not knowledgeable of our brand and what it carries, so we must be deliberate and intentional in terms of how we become visible regionally and globally.

“All the countries we know in history that have done so well like China, Russia and Malaysia have invested deeply and functionally in branding and repositioning.”

He said all key departments should push the country’s brand regionally and globally.
