A bitter dispute between two brothers from Budiriro, Harare, unfolded at the Harare Civil Court on Tuesday.

Ashley Zvaraya, 18, alleged that his sibling assaulted and chased him away from their late parents’ property

The eighteen-year-old man told the court that his brother Innocent Zvaraya (47) assaulted and chased him away from their parents’ house.

“He is the firstborn in our family. He is chasing me away from our house in Budiriro 1. The house belongs to our late parents and we all have shares.

“He always assaulted me when I was staying at the house which forced me to leave and start to stay with my grandmother in Mount Darwin,” he said.

Innocent disputed the allegations and argued that he does not stay in Budiriro.

“It is impossible because I never stayed in the house he mentioned. He is staying in Mount Darwin, but he sometimes visits,” he said.

Presiding magistrate Ms Narotam Meenal ordered Innocent not to chase away Ashley from the house.
