Construction of the Chivhu Dam and water treatment plant, which will ease the town’s long-running water shortages, is progressing well, the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) has said.
The construction of the dam is set to transform the town and surrounding areas into a greenbelt.
In a statement on Tuesday, ZINWA said:
“Progress with each passing day, we inch closer to the resolution of water challenges in Chivhu. Work on the construction of Chivhu Dam and the water treatment plant is progressing well. We seek transformation of livelihoods,” said ZINWA.
Upon completion, the dam will ensure that residents of the town will have enough potable water and excess for irrigation, as Government walks the talk on ensuring that no place is left behind in infrastructure development.
