BY Thursday this week, the country had recorded a cumulative 22 105 cholera cases since the outbreak began in February last year, latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Child Care show.
Over the same period, 21 378 recoveries were recorded, which translate to a recovery rate of 97 percent.
Two hundred and thirty-one new suspected cases were recorded on Thursday.
In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said:
“As of today (February 1) , Zimbabwe has recorded 22 105 suspected cholera cases, 2 388 confirmed cases, 21 378 recoveries, 71 confirmed deaths and 421 suspected deaths.”
The highest numbers of cholera cases have been reported in Harare province (with 7 648 cases) and Manicaland province (5 830).

Meanwhile, administering of the oral cholera vaccine started on Monday.
