A Harare man brought his wife to court alleging that she verbally abuses him in public.

Mr Felix Muruke (58) made the allegations at the Harare Civil Court on Tuesday.

He told the court that his wife, Mrs Linda Nhimhura, insulted him using vulgar language in front of their children and neighbours.

“I want her to stop perpetrating violence against me, she uses vulgar words in front of my kids and neighbours.

“She pushes me against the wall, saying that I am an irresponsible father and that I should sleep on the floor,” he said.

In her defence, Ms Linda Nhimhura said her husband assaulted her for asking for money to buy groceries.

“He assaulted me, the police advised me to apply for a protection order after I reported the case. I received a summons after telling him I would apply for a protection order,” she said.

Presiding magistrate Ms Meenal Narotam ordered Mrs Linda Nhimhura not to verbally abuse Mr Muruke.
