THE ongoing mobile registration exercise for identity documents being carried out by the Registrar General’s Office in Mutasa District has seen hundreds of youths as well as children acquire the important documents.
Villagers in Ward 23 resettlement area have commended the convenience the exercise has brought to their doorsteps.
The area’s representative for Ward 23 in Mutasa Rural District Council, Councillor Fabian Gume, said at least 500 young people aged between 18 and 25 as well as children have benefited from the exercise.
“Mutasa District’s Ward 23 is a farming area and we are grateful to the Registrar General’s Office for bringing this mobile registration for identity documents, which has created convenience. Many, including adults, are benefitting; with 500 young people aged between 18 and 25 and infants acquiring identity documents and birth certificates respectively,” he said.
Cllr Gume said more people are expected to acquire the important documents.
Government has encouraged communities, especially those in remote and rural areas to take advantage of the exercise and acquire the important documents.
