IT’S now official: Local football is back!

Traditional sponsors of the Premier Soccer League, Delta Beverages, have unveiled a three-year sponsorship package worth US$1 130 000 per season.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has been allocated US$700 000 for the championship race.

The sponsorship will also cover the Chibuku Super Cup to the tune of US$375 000.

The Castle Challenge Cup, which features the league champions and the Chibuku Super Cup winners, will be worth US$55 000.

Delta Beverages general manager (corporate affairs) Patricia Murambinda announced the sponsorship package Thursday in Harare.

PSL chairperson Farai Jere promised an exciting competition.

“What I can promise Delta, the media and all the guests is that 2021 will be an exciting year,” said Jere.

He said the renewal of the sponsorship is testimony of Delta Beverages’ commitment and faith in the league

Inaugurated in 2014, the Chibuku Super Cup is the country’s premier knockout competition.

It will kick off on May 22 in four centres – Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Zvishavane.

Top two teams from each pool will progress to the quarterfinal, semi and then the final to be played at venue to be decided by the sponsors.
