THE once dull Saburi Business Centre situated along Mutare-Burma Valley Road has been brought back to life following the resuscitation of posh leisure centre, Way Jojo Bar and Grill.
The business centre has over the years been associated with social ills such as commercial sex work and drug abuse among youths, chiefly because of unemployment and idleness.
The resuscitation of the bar and grill into a formidable entertainment centre has managed to address to a critical extent such ills through offering recreational activities such as darts, pool and slug.
The joint’s management recently re-opened its doors for fun lovers after a two-month renovation exercise.
Celebrated musicians from genres such as Zim-dancehall, sungura and Afro-jazz as well as dance groups will take turns to entertain revellers during weekends as from next weekend. Progress Chipfumo, Brian Samaita, Hosiah Chipanga, Simba Muchita, Preen King, Assegai Crew, Juicer Mpostori and Ntswai Ntswai, among others, are some of the artistes expected to grace the joint before year end.
“We are glad that we are slowly achieving our desired results of bringing youths and the elderly in the community together.
We are going to put more dart boards and pool tables for us to host bigger and better tournaments as we aim to add sport as part of entertainment.
As we approach the festive season, our entertainment department has lined up an array of artistes who will entertain our patrons.
“The place is ideal for private functions as well as family gatherings. We have braai facilities that cater for more than 50 people as well as beverages for all,” said a member of the management team.
