VETERAN sungura musicians Nicholas Zakaria, Somandla Ndebele, Leonard Zhakata and a host of others, will perform live in Bindura at the inaugural Chesology Sungura Festival on April 13.
The festival is being hosted by sungura music icon Alick Macheso.
Among those that are also set to perform at the festival are Suluman Chimbetu, Taruvinga “Sugar Sugar” Manjokota and Peter Moyo.
Alick Macheso’s manager Tich Makahamadze said the new festival is a celebration of sungura music.
“Sungura music brings joy to many people, and we saw it fit to celebrate this genre by organising this festival,” he said.
He explained why the inaugural event will be held in Bindura.
“Macheso was born in Bindura, and that is why we decided to have the first edition of this festival being held there,” Makahamadze said.
