SEASONED body-builder Godwin Mhaka has arrived safely in the United States and appears ready for this weekend’s World Fitness Federation Mr Universe contest.
The competition, slated for October 19 to 20 in Las Vegas, will see over 200 athletes from over 38 countries battle it out for silverware.
Mhaka will take part in the Senior Men Bermuda Category and Warrior Fitness, in which he is the defending champion.
He finished second in the senior men’s Bermuda category at the World Fitness Championship in Berlin Germany last year.
Affectionately known as “GS” in the fitness industry, Mhaka said he is ready to fight it out for gold and has been in the gym for some time.
“The preparations went well, and I am looking forward to the contest. I had a few challenges in terms of dieting but I managed.
“So far I am at 100 percent and I will try hard to improve by conditioning.
“Last year I competed and came first in Warrior Fitness and second in Bermuda but I am now looking forward to repeating the first and improving on the latter this time around.
“I am looking forward to winning gold in my main category Bermuda, then another gold in the Warrior Fitness,” he said.
