NEW: More cholera cases recorded

Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 961 cholera cases, with 278 recoveries and six deaths as at May 15 2023, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC).

“Zimbabwe’s cumulative suspected cases had reached 961, with 278 recoveries and six deaths,” said the MOHCC in a statement on Tuesday.

The cases – which have no epidemiological link to each other – have been reported in nine provinces, since the beginning of the year.

According to the Ministry, the latest six suspected cases were reported in Masvingo, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland Central.

The worst affected province is Manicaland, with 355 cases.
