PAMUZINDA Marimba is set to perform at the Africa Festival, which will be held in Birkenhead, Germany from May 26 to 29 2023.

The group is known for its energetic traditional dances and blend of cultural instruments such as the mbira, marimba, hosho and congas.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, the ensemble said they will use the opportunity to spread their music internationally.

“We want to keep traditional music alive and such festivals make it possible,” said the group.

The 12-member band made their first breakthrough in the 1990s, when they were invited to be part of the Maitisong Musical Festival in Botswana.

Pamuzinda Marimba has also performed in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania, Belgium, Luxemburg, Holland, Japan, Scotland, United Kingdom, and the USA.
