CITY of Mutare is experiencing erratic water supplies after water production at Odzani Water Treatment Plant was affected by high turbidity recorded at Pungwe River.

This has resulted in low water pressure in the city, the local authority has said.

In a statement released today, Mutare City Council said: “Notice is hereby given to Mutare residents and stakeholders that in the past days, the Pungwe River has recorded high turbidity and that has affected water production at Odzani Water Treatment Plant.

“The development has significantly reduced production capacity as purification is low due to the high turbidity. As a result, some areas in the city will experience low pressure, while others will have erratic water supplies.
