ZIFA Eastern Region Division One outfit Manica Diamonds Juniors are finding the going tough in their maiden campaign in the second-tier league after succumbing to another defeat at the weekend.

The team was on the losing end at the hands of title aspirants Mutare City Rovers who overcame them 2-0.

This leaves the Hibron “Adhala Chommiey” Makukutu-coached side without a win in 10 starts and are anchoring the log standings as they are fast turning into the league’s whipping boys.

However, Makukutu expressed optimism that they can still turn things around and avoid demotion.

“It has been a difficult start, but we are not losing hope. This is a youthful team and I see signs of improvement with each passing outing that if we continue working hard we can come right,” said Makukutu.

Buhera-based outfit Nzuma Bar are equally struggling and dropped to second from bottom after losing 3-0 away to JM Busha 54.

Manicaland Province’s other representative – GreenFuel of Chisumbanje – notched up another victory after prevailing 3-0 over Grayham to maintain top spot and a three-point lead over second-placed Mutare City Rovers.
