locally and within the region has been launched.
Currently, the website features job opportunities from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia and Zambia, and is anticipated to soon have a pool of CVs from the same countries allowing employers to carry out cross-border recruitment.
The website’s marketing manager, Mr William Makawa, said the site would be constantly reviewed to cater for new and unique niches in the job search services sector.
“The website is bringing a whole new dimension to employers, human resource professionals and employment agencies.
“Our vision is to become a global recruitment portal where any job seeker in the world can find jobs and any employer in the world can access job seekers’ CVs.
“In the near future the website will be offering tailor-made online training and educational programmes to make it a one-stop shop where job seekers will acquire education and get jobs at the same time,” he said.
The portal is built on a state-of-the-art user friendly platform such that job seekers can create a profile and upload their CVs.
Job seekers can either simply copy and paste their résumés into the system or use the “Upload” option and load Resume in a Word Document, PDF or TXT version. In this case employers will be able to download them.
Résumés can be modified any time later. The website also includes features that enable job seekers to perform job searches and get advanced search results.
It also enables the job seeker to browse jobs by job category, by state/region, view all jobs posted by a specific employer/company and save time using “Save Search” feature, load saved search criteria the next time they search for vacancies or remove saved searches if they don’t need them anymore.
Search results yield short descriptions of the vacancies. From this section, job seekers can view a full description of the vacancy or view all the vacancies of the specified employer.
Once they have signed up, the job seekers are able to apply for a job with the click of a mouse.
Employers will contact them using an internal messaging system if their candidacy makes them interested.
If the job seeker still doubts whether to apply for a job or not, there is an opportunity to add the job to “Saved Jobs” list and decide later.
“The most rewarding thing for the job seekers is that all the said features will be available to the job seekers free of charge.
“All one has to do is to connect to the internet, log onto the website, register and they are good to go,” said Mr Makawa.
