The Congolese pulled out at the last minute due to an Ebola outbreak in their country.
Khanyiso Bhebhe, the New Orleans director, said they were ready to take on their neighbours.
“We are ready for anything that is thrown at us. We have one of the girls, Nokuthula Ndlovu, who got injured during the weekend but I am sure we will find a suitable replacement,” said Bhebhe.
The coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji” Sibanda said it was not easy to predict today’s match because the girls knew each other too well.
She however said they badly needed the three points so they could move up the log.
“The girls know each other well so it is not going to be an easy game. We need to win this match as we cannot afford to lose points at this point in time,” Sibanda said.
Shadreck Mulauzi said the game was a tricky one.
“It is going to be difficult because the two sides know each other very well and usually when we play there is a lot of tension,” said Mulauzi.
Portia Mukusha, Nokuthula Ndlovu and Sicelo Dube were called from New Orleans to the Mighty Warriors last week while Talent Mazetese, Nobuhle Majika, Tonderai Masango, Rudo Neshamba, Rejoice Kapfumvuti were the Inline Academy players in the national squad.
Elsewhere in the Women’s Soccer League, log leaders Black Rhinos play against Cyclone Stars while struggling teams Chipembere Queens and Faith Drive clash.
