ZIMBABWE’S smallholder climate-proofed agriculture model, Pfumvudza/Intwasa impressed delegates from across the African continent, who attended a regional agro-processing conference in Harare a fortnight ago.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Development in the African Union Commission (AUC-DARBE), Her Excellency Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko – who was represented by Dr Godfrey Bahiigwa, the director of the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Development in the AUC, said:

“We are happy that Zimbabwe is recording successes in their Pfumvudza programme and wheat production.

“With the right policies backed by scientific evidence, Africa’s emerging food processing sector can grow to deliver a triple-win for small-scale producers, consumers and economic development across the continent.”
