NEW: Population and Housing Census extended

THE Population and Housing Census, which was supposed to end yesterday, has been extended to Thursday.

In an announcement this morning, the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) said the extension is a mop-up exercise to ensure that everyone is counted and make the census a success.

Reads the announcement: “ZimStat kindly requests all individuals who are of the opinion that they were not enumerated to, please, confirm first with households where they spent their census night on April 20, 2022. If confirmed that they were not enumerated, only then can they get hold of us on our toll-free line 08080580. Households not visited can also get in touch with us on this number.”

ZimStat said those who cannot call them may alert their local leadership such as chiefs, headmen, councilors and members of Parliament so that they inform ZimStat of the omissions.
