President Mnangagwa has arrived at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds in Bulawayo for the official opening of the 2024 Zimbabwe Exporters Conference.

The premier event, which is being hosted by ZimTrade, connects international buyers with local producers and positions Zimbabwean companies to access a wide range of markets.

This aligns with the Government’s target of diversifying both export destinations and the products offered to the global market.

The conference is part of the ZimTrade Exporters Week, which is running under the theme ‘Qala | Tanga | Start’.

It brings together the business community and policymakers to discuss areas of mutual interest in the export industry.

The event has attracted over 250 participants, including international buyers from United Kingdom, Zambia, Botswana, Angola, South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia.

The buyers have already embarked on pre-event sector-specific engagements, including factory visits and business-to-business meetings with potential suppliers from different industries.

The business engagements are expected to generate tangible outcomes such as new business partnerships, export contracts and deeper collaborations across sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, leather, services, construction and engineering.

Working closely with private sector partners, industry experts and development co-operation partners, ZimTrade provides a comprehensive suite of value-added services and assists Zimbabwean exporters, including first-time exporters and potential exporters, to develop, promote and facilitate the export of their goods and services.

ZimTrade is the national trade development and promotion organisation that was established in September 1991 out of a joint venture between the private sector and Government.
