NEW: PSL clubs yet to meet conditions for alcohol sale

DESPITE getting the greenlight from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to sell alcohol at football stadiums during matches, all 18 top-flight clubs have not yet met the stipulated conditions to make this possible.

Clubs were last month allowed to sell alcoholic beverages on condition that they first meet the league’s stringent security conditions.

PSL communications officer Kudzai Bare confirmed to The Sunday Mail Online that none of the clubs had yet met the terms and conditions that would allow them to start selling alcohol.

“At the moment, no alcohol shall be sold at the stadium until those conditions are met,” said Bare.

The PSL believe that lifting restrictions could help lure fans back to local matches.

Most clubs heavily rely on revenue from gate takings.
