YOUNG women in Buhera West constituency should take advantage of the mobile voter registration exercise and register to vote, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa, has said.
The voter registration exercise ends tomorrow, May 30th.
Officiating at an event organised by Young Women for Economic Development (YW4ED) held in Murambinda this afternoon, Minister Mutsvangwa said first time voters are the future of the nation and should take advantage of this and register to vote.
She commended registered young women for heeding Government’s call and taking part in the exercise.
“I am reliably informed that at least 200 young women who were unregistered due to lack of identification particulars acquired those documents yesterday and will register to vote tomorrow morning.
“It is quite commendable. Your peers should follow suit as we march towards acquiring the five million votes that Zanu-PF is garnering in next year’s harmonised elections. If this happens, then we are guaranteed of victory come the 2023 general elections,” she said.
In an interview, YW4ED Manicaland chapter chairperson, Ms Patricia Kundhlande said targeting first time female voters is one of their missions as an organisation.
“The purpose of today’s event was to mobilise young women to register to vote in preparation for voting President Mnangagwa back in office next year.
“As YW4ED we are always solidly behind the President and will show that in next year’s elections by resoundingly voting for him next year,” she said.
