NATHANIEL Madzivanyika has been appointed chairman of the new Sport and Recreation Commission Board, replacing one led by Gerald Mlotshwa whose mandate ended last month.
The Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Anselem Sanyatwe, appointed the new Board this morning.
They will be in office from July 8, 2025 to July 7, 2029.
The appointment is a strategic move that underscores the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive and transparent governance of sport.
The appointments were in strict adherence to the provisions of Section 11(9) of the Public Entities and Corporate Governance Act and in full compliance with Section 5 of the Sports and Recreation Commission Act (Chapter 25:15), which outlines the framework for the composition and appointment of the Board.

Dave Simba, a sports commentator and a member of the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Youth Games management, is part of the new board.
