This perhaps sums up the life of Dumalisile ‘Dobba Don’ Mehlomakhulu, a former rising artiste who has been ravaged by recreational drugs, and is now living on the streets.
The news that Dobba Don is now homeless has touched the hearts of many, with messages of sympathy and encouragement being sent to the once promising musician.
Writing on his Facebook account, hip-hop artiste, Ti Gonzi, said he has been in a similar situation and is very worried about Dobba Don.
Ti Gonzi, whose real name is Tinashe Gonzaru, wrote:
“I used to be a drug addict and I wronged so many people. I lost important friends and made so many wrong decisions. Thank God, I found myself.”Let us all pray for Dobba Don. Kunge room isati yapindwa, it is never too late”.
Ti Gonzi urged musicians to fight drug abuse by singing about the scourge of drug abuse.
“I am worried about the level of drug abuse amongst the youths. As musicians, we should sing against drug abuse as a way of fighting it,” the Mufakose-born artiste said.
