NEW: Two new rabies cases detected

The country recorded one death and two new cases of rabies in Harare province and Mazowe district last week, bringing the cumulative figures to three deaths and six cases.

This was revealed in the Weekly Disease Surveillance Report for the week ending February 26, 2023 released by the Ministry of Health and Child Care on Thursday.

“The death was reported from Mazowe district in Mashonaland Central province,” reads the report.

“The cases were reported from the southern-eastern district in Harare province and Mazowe district. The cumulative figures for suspected cases are six and three deaths.”
