NEW: Ward 9 councillor Dube dies

ONE of the longest serving and popular Mutare City Councillor, Councillor Crispen Dube has died.

 

Councillor Dube died yesterday night at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital where he was admitted.

 

Acting Mutare Town Clerk, Mr Blessing Chafesuka confirmed Councillor Dube’s death and said they will be having a meeting later during the day to chart the way forward in consultation with his family.

 

“I can confirm the sad news of the passing on of Councillor Dube. It is a big blow to the city and we will be meeting later to discuss the issue. More details will be availed after our meeting,” said Mr Chafesuka.
