FOR a team that failed to win their opening nine league games of this campaign, picking up seven points in the last five outings has left Yadah dreaming of brighter days.
Genesis Mangombe’s side might be 14th on the log table, with 15 points from as many games, but there is renewed hope at Yadah.
They face Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium on Saturday hoping to snatch at least a point against the log leaders, who are unbeaten at home since the start of the season.
However, the Yadah coach actually thinks his side’s position on the table could turn out to be an advantage.
“I know being at the bottom of the log is something which makes some other teams relax when they are playing against us, but that’s not a bad thing,” Mangombe told The Sunday Mail Online Thursday morning.
“So, they (Chicken Inn) need to watch out, we are not going there for luxury, we are going there for business. It’s going to be game-on,” he said.
Interestingly, Yadah have a commendable record against Chicken Inn at Luveve.
The Miracle Boys are yet to lose a league match against the Gamecocks in Bulawayo since 2017 when they were promoted into the Premier Soccer League.
They beat Chicken Inn 2-1 in 2017, before the two teams played out two 1-1 draws in 2018 and 2019.
“Playing against Chicken Inn, especially in Bulawayo, is not difficult if we can turn to history,” said Mangombe.
The gaffer, however, acknowledges the log leaders are a difficult team to break.
In Joey Antipas , the Gamecocks are coached by one of the finest football brains in the country.
“If we go player by player, Chicken Inn have better quality, and we need to work extra hard.”
Yadah have picked up seven points from two wins and a draw in their last five matches.
But they go into the match against Chicken Inn on the back of a 0-2 home loss against defending champions FC Platinum.
