A number of churches have lined up events to mark the end of year with what are usually referred to as cross over nights in place. For those who want to pray into 2020, below are some of the events lined up by church leaders from different denominations in the city.
Abundant Life Revival Mission International
The Prophet Itai Ukama-led church will cross over to 2020 at their church situated at corner 6th Avenue and Josiah Tongogara Street. Prophet Ukama will lead the event glorifying the Lord with fellowship, worship, testimonies, prayer, and a gospel message for 2020. The night will also include a time of prayer where worshippers will entrust themselves and their plans for the New Year into God’s hands.
Eagle Life Assembly
Dr Prophet Blessing Chiza one of Bulawayo’s popular prophets and his wife Prophetess Tatiana Chiza who are founders of the church will be hosting the cross-over night at Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Hall One, is running under the theme: 2020 BreakForth.
Prophet Chiza will be realising prophetic utterances to individuals, the church and the nation at large. Pastor Rudolph Mabasa and Thabelo Thavhanyedza both from South Africa are going to perform at the spirit-filled event where they will be supported by ELA musicians Reward “Judah” Ndlovu, Tafadzwa “Jeduthun” Lunga, Nkosi “Herman” Nyoni, Natsai “Taaliah” Mudzamiri and Felix “Elishua” Marara and Audrey Chenai.
Spirit Revival Encounter Church
The church which is being led by the youthful Prophet Sheltons who is currently taking the city by storm with his breathtaking miracles will be hosting a cross-over night at Elite400 along Robert Mugabe Way. He said it is going to be a historic and prophetic night for people getting into 2020.
They are running under the theme: Ephphatha, which means be opened, a theme which is inspired by the Biblical verse Mark7:34. Said Prophet Sheltons: “Our collective experience teaches us that most of our church members will celebrate the New Year in some form or fashion. Giving them the opportunity of celebrating with their church family is a wonderful alternative to the secular celebrations that are often unhealthy and unwholesome”.
Kingdom Empowerment Centre
The Church’s leader Bruce Edwards together with his wife Prophetess Pamela Edwards will be hosting the cross over night at the Bulawayo Large City Hall. Prophet Edwards said everyone is welcome especially non-Christians who may be seeking a positive environment in which to at least take a step closer to God for the coming year. He described the coming year as a year of Dominion.
Christ Life Generation Church
Christ Life Generation Church leader Prophet Mduduzi Dube also known as Black Elisha said together with Prophetess Dube they will be delivering their message for 2020 at their usual base, Magwegwe Hall. He said people should come in numbers to have an encounter with Jesus Christ. On the event Prophet Dube will present what he calls “candle light” that will see people suffering from different ailments being healed.
Johanne Masowe Echishanu
The Apostolic church led by Prophet Emmanuel Mutumwa who is also known as Signature because of his prophetic and healing powers will cross over into 2020 at their shrine in Selbourne Park. Prophet Mutumwa said although the economy has not been friendly to many, he believes in 2020 God will unlock the doors for the betterment of His people’s lives. He said the event will encourage his church members to share their spiritual victories, answers to prayers and blessing of the past year.
“Such sharing encourages a mindset of thanksgiving and praise and fulfils the Biblical injunctions to pray for and to encourage one another,” he said.
