A two-day Budget Consultative Conference for youths started today at the new Parliament Building in Mt Hampden.
The event was organised by the Parliamentary Youth Caucus and seeks to ensure that the voices of young people are adequately represented in the national budget.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Youth Council spokesperson Mr Tanzikwa Guranungo said: “Youths drawn from different sectors across the country will converge to give their inputs regarding the 2025 national budget.
“We are expecting more than 400 delegates for this important conference.”
Various Government Ministers, the Clerk of Parliament, the Speaker of Parliament, representatives of international organisations and civil society organisations are attending the conference.
Sector-specific consultative sessions will be held to discuss the budget priorities of different youth groups, covering areas such as education, health, employment and social welfare.
