THE Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has been running without audited financial statements since its inception, the Commission’s chairperson Mr Micheal Reza has revealed.

Speaking before giving his remarks at the ZACC 4th Annual General Meeting held in Harare today, Mr Reza said they recently handed their 2023 financial statements to the Auditor General for auditing.

Mr Reza pleaded with the Auditor General to expedite the audit.

He said going forward, ZACC will not hold its AGMs without audited financial statements.

“Henceforth, we shall not hold Annual General Meetings without audited financial statements.  ZACC believes that by not having audited financial statements, it may be interpreted as corruption,” he said.

Mr Reza said ZACC will be the first Commission to have audited financial statements.
