AVANTIS Technologies, a local company that manufactures computers, has extended its tentacles into East African markets.

The company’s regional and marketing manager, Mr Ronald Jack, told The Sunday Mail Online the company’s products have been well-received in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.

“Each year, we are distributing more than 315 000 computers in East Africa. Due to demand, our target is to distribute 500 000 units to this market within the first quarter of next year,” Mr Jack said.

The fledgling company, he said, targeted East African because of its size.

“Uganda has 42 million people, Kenya’s population is 54 million and Tanzania has close to 61 million people. These demographics naturally attract businesses,” he said.

“On top of that, the East African market has also fully embraced us.”

Avantis is also targeting West Africa and North Africa.
