NEW: Zimbabwe to receive Sputnik V vaccine from Serbia

The Republic of Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Nikola Selakovic is expected in the country today to hand over a donation of Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccines.

Mr Selakovic, who is expected to arrive at Robert Mugabe International Airport at 17000 hours, will sign the donation agreement before paying a courtesy call on President Mnangagwa.

The donation comes as the country is also expecting another delivery of over 500 000 doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines today.

Zimbabwe is among the few countries to administer the best rollout of Covid-19 vaccines and was recently commended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and World Bank for its stellar efforts.
