NKULUMANE are the winners of the Highlanders Bulawayo Kasi Pride Battle after garnering more votes than Mzilikazi in the final whose outcome was announced on Wednesday morning.

The initiative, run on social microblogging site Twitter sought to find the Bulawayo suburb with the most passionate Highlanders supporters.

At the end of the 24 hours of voting, Nkulumane had 56.9 percent of the votes against Mzilikazi’s 43.1 %. Highlanders ran the Kasi Pride Battle in partnership with Arenel who joined in at the second round of the competition.

“Congratulations to Nkulumane for winning this year’s Bulawayo edition of #KasiPride brought to you by Highlanders and partners @ArenelZw. We take this opportunity to thank all the individuals who participated, representing their respective suburbs,’’ posted Highlanders on Wednesday.

Highlanders media and communications officer, Ronald Moyo said the results of the Twitter poll were reflective of what really transpires even when it comes to attendances on match-days since there is a huge fan base for the club in Nkulumane. According to Moyo, the club’s activities done in Nkulumane have also been well attended.

“Even in terms of physical support we have actually seen huge numbers in Nkulumane especially where we have been doing our road shows where we promote our matches and fan activation where we have been taking our sponsors through activation initiatives. There is actually a huge fan base in Nkulumane,’’ Moyo said.

After the success of the Bulawayo Kasi Pride Battle, Highlanders will soon be embarking on yet another campaign dubbed “Iteam Yezwe Lonke” edition to find out which part of the country has the most ardent Bosso supporters.
