This will be the first time for the group to tour the country, as they have previously toured Germany, Austria and Czech Republic, which has seen their music breaking ethnic barriers.
In an interview, the group spokesperson Gilmore Moyo said the group was excited about the tour, as it would create and open new markets for them in their endevour to spread their wings.
“I must say we are happy that we are touring North America for the first time and we will use the opportunity to the best of our abilities. It is a chance for us to tap into a new market as well,” said Moyo.
Nobuntu is a groundbreaking and game changing group that has made a name in a male dominated industry.
Their music has raised themes that border around abuse, love and happiness.
A member of the group, Duduzile Sibanda said they had already launched their second album titled Ekhaya online for their fans abroad.
“We are really looking forward to performing in Canada. Our second album Ekhaya was released online. The idea was to give our fans a sample of what we have to offer. We would like to have a scenario where they are able to sing along with us, as we tour and also officially launch it back home. The support from both home and outside has been incredible,” she said.
The group was founded by Dumisani Ramadu Moyo — a member of sensational imbube group Insingizi currently based in Austria.
The group originally comprised Duduzile Sibanda, Siphiwe Dube, Claire Ratidzo Dangarembga, Joyline Sibanda and Heather Dube. However, they recruited Zanele Manhenga and Thandeka Moyo as replacements to Claire and Bridget.
