NOMADIC MIDFIELDER COMMITS TO A LONG STAY AT MWOS

MWOS have made a decent start to life in the Castle Lager Premiership, registering four points in their first two fixtures.

However, fans might not need to dig much into the history of their midfielder, Tinotenda Mutyambizi, who has been impressive.

Mutyambizi’s career has been marked by surprising moves, with the midfielder jumping from one club to another in search of greener pastures.

His longest stint was with the now-defunct Mushowani Stars during the 2019 campaign.

Since then, the 24-year-old has had brief stints at Yadah, Triangle, GreenFuel, and Harare City, never lasting more than half a season.

MWOS signed him during the mid-season break last year and it appears he has finally found a home, at least for now.

Mutyambizi has been one of the team’s better players and his experience will be crucial in helping MWOS finish the season in a respectable position.

However, those who are superstitious might claim that Mutyambizi’s long stay at MWOS will spell disaster.

They will point out that the last club where he lasted a full season, Mushowani Stars, were relegated the same season.

Mutyambizi told Zimpapers Sport that he is determined to have a long and successful stint with MWOS.

“I have been moving from one club to another for different reasons but I think I have been enjoying my stay at MWOS and it’s my wish to stay for a long time,” said Mutyambizi.

“It’s a good environment, and I believe we have been given full support by the club owners to achieve better results.

“The pressure is on us as players to deliver, as the coaches have also been doing their best.

“We’re looking forward to a great season. It’s been a good start and we just need to maintain our hunger to stay competitive in the Premiership.”

MWOS began their campaign with a 1-0 win against Highlanders followed by a 1-1 draw against Bikita Minerals last Saturday at Sakubva.

They host Yadah at Baobab on Saturday.
