Afro-pop star Nox Guni has set the stage for what he calls his “best project yet,” releasing a deeply personal single titled Rure Rure accompanied by striking visuals.
The award-winning artist says Rure Rure “speaks directly to him,” giving fans an emotional preview of his upcoming 16th studio album, which fittingly carries 16 tracks and is set for release on 27 September 2025.
The project features collaborations with Mr Candy, Junior Spragga, Tiffa, Dali Kido, Uncle Epatan, Mr Brown and Sude, and will include the songs: Change of Plans, Cry a River, Haucharira, Highway, Marooro, Une Dzungu, Unomupei, Handichada, Misi Haifanane, Zvinondipei, Chilla, What Kinda Love, Zvamboita Sei, Capital Love and two others including Rure Rure.
Nox told H-Metro that the project signals a return to the signature style that first won him fans in the early 2000s.
“This is the old Nox. I believe it’s my best work so far because it’s authentic and it’s me,” he said.
“When I was making this album, I didn’t chase trends but I focused on making music that will last, music people can still enjoy 10 years from now.”
The Ndinonyara hitmaker added that the 16 tracks carry different moods and messages, ranging from love and heartbreak to celebration and reflection.
“I wanted every song to connect with someone’s life story, whether you’re in love, going through pain, or just want to dance, there’s a track for you here,” he said.
To celebrate the milestone, Nox has promised a big launch event on release day, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
“It won’t just be an album launch but it will be a celebration of my journey, the fans, and the music that has kept me going for all these years,” he added.
