NUTTY O says he dreams of winning a Grammy award.
Over the weekend, the Too Much hit-maker reached a major digital milestone, clocking 100 000 subscribers on his official YouTube channel.
“The next stop now is the Grammy Award, and that will happen one day,” declared Nutty O.
He thanked fans for their support, saying the latest milestone is proof that persistence pays off.
“This shows the love you’ve given me. I celebrated 100 subscribers, I celebrated 1 000, and now we’re celebrating 100k plus. It’s a reminder that dreams do come true. No matter how small or how big, anything you want, you can get.
“I have Nama, Zimas, StarFM awards and others, and now, the next stop is the Grammy Award.”
Nutty O said the journey was just as important as the destination.
“Don’t trivialise the process because the process is important. It reminds you of where you’re coming from and tells you how much you need to put in to go where you want to go.”
Nutty O’s love for music was ignited by the enchanting sounds of UB40, a passion he shared with his father, who was equally devoted to reggae. His pivotal turning point came in 2014 when he committed to pursuing music full-time, catching the attention of veteran producer Funkydalic, popularly known as the Cashlibs City Producer.
At just 21, Nutty O was signed to Kenako Music. His breakout track, Kwandabva Kure, became an instant hit, reaching number three on DJ Edu’s BBC Radio 1Xtra Destination Africa (DNA) Show.
The song earned him international recognition, widened his audience and fuelled his ambition to push even further. Later that same year, Nutty O shared the stage with Jamaican star Charly Black and earned a nomination for Most Promising Artiste at the Zimdancehall Awards.
In 2017, he joined Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement (MTM) and continued to refine his craft and expand his influence in the music industry. Nutty O established ABX Records (Ability Extension) in June 2020 after leaving MTM. The label has since been associated with his music releases, including his successful debut album Mustard Seed (2021) and follow-up CornerStone (2023).
In 2018, Jamaican star Etana featured Nutty O on the track ‘No Money No Love’, a song on her album that topped the Billboard Reggae Hot 100 for weeks.
The same album later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album in 2019, giving Nutty O an early brush with global recognition.
