AWARD-WINNING dancehall chanter, Nutty O, will this Sunday pay homage at Mbare’s Zebra Village to thank the community which shaped his career.
This is the chanter’s long-awaited performance on home soil since the launch of his debut album titled ‘‘Mustard Seed’’.
With the album already a huge success, the youthful singer feels he needs to celebrate his achievements with the people who were the first to believe in him.
Nutty O will share the stage with fellow chanter Enzol Ishall, who also has roots in Sunningdale, a nearby suburb.
For the Hatipere Power singer, Mbare remains close to his heart, as evidenced by a couple of recordings at Chillspot Records, a leading studio in the high density suburb.
Nutty O said he is ready for his homecoming gig.
“The gig has been long overdue and since I was born and bred in Mbare, this is like my homecoming show.
“This is also my first show after a very long time and, especially, after the release of my Mustard Seed album.
“This means a lot to me and it’s a huge homecoming for me,” said Nutty O.
He urged all his fans to show up for the date.
“I am inviting all the ABX fans from Mbare, and other suburbs, to show up in their numbers at this important event.
“The support will go a long way and I am doing this out of the abundance of love in my heart and proof that I will never forget where I came from,” he said.
Nutty O boasts of a number of hit songs including Boom Shelele, Mo Salah and Jehovah Musatisiye, whose influence and creation came through Mbare’s Chillspot Records.
At the event, the singer will pay tribute to DJ Tamuka, who produced his current album, Chillspot Records, a few local promoters and the fans.
