NEW Dynamos captain Shadreck Nyahwa acknowledges he has a huge task of leading the Harare giants this season but the gritty midfielder is convinced DeMbare have the capacity to rise again.
Fresh from a 5-0 drubbing by Scottland in the Castle Challenge Cup at Rufaro on Sunday, Dynamos have now shifted focus to their season opener against TelOne at Ascot on Saturday.
“We are sorry for the loss against Scottland but that is not a reason for our fans to press the panic button,” Nyahwa told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
“It’s still early and we have a very long time ahead of us.
“We can’t be judged by that result against Scottland, as much as we also know the pain that our fans go through when we lose.
“So, I am urging our fans to support us in Gweru when we play TelOne.”
He is also relishing leading Dynamos in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
“Taking over the armband from Jalai has been smooth because I was the vice captain and also a leader.
“I salute Jalai for the way he led the team last season.”
