FINALLY, the producers of “Nyanga” the movie have set December 19 for its premiere at Ster Kinekor, Joina City, in Harare.
The 2023 production is a joint work by local movie producer Eddie Ndhlovu and his partner, Jacov Dakovic.
After its release last year, the movie earned 11 international awards, two nominations at the Zimbabwe Annual Film and Television Awards and the Sotambe Zambia International Film Festival.
In an interview, Eddie Ndhlovu said they were ready to capture the hearts of local movie lovers.
“Ultimately, this film is a labour of love – a sincere attempt to capture the joys, sorrows and complexities of the human condition.
“My hope is that it will resonate with festival audiences and inspire thoughtful discussions around the universal experiences that unite us all.
“The highly anticipated Nyanga world premiere is hitting the big screen on December 19, 2024, at Ster-Kinekor Zimbabwe, Joina City, at 6pm,” said Ndhlovu.
He has invited local movie enthusiasts to attend the premiere.
“This isn’t just any movie night, prepare for a dazzling red-carpet experience that promises to be as thrilling as the film itself.
“Nyanga has already made waves on the international scene and this locally brewed cinematic experience is ready to capture hearts and ignite conversations,” he said.
He is confident the movie will put Zimbabwe on the international map as the remarkable project depicts the country’s pride.
Some of the actors involved are Collin Ncube, Lloyd Mazengula, Benhildah Kandawasvika, Hardlife Makuku and Anneline Gwasira.
The drama is set during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It follows Panganayi, a dedicated ranger who, along with his ill-equipped team, has to fight off poachers who target the beloved rhinos he has dedicated his life towards protecting.
Talent Chitauro is the producer and Andre Ndhlovu is the editor.
