Nyovest scraps Zim leg of tour

South African rap star Cassper Nyovest has had to cancel Zimbabwe from his Refiloe Album Tour, as he switches focus to his audacious attempt to fill up the 40 000 seater Orlando Stadium. Nyovest had announced Zimbabwe and Nigeria as countries that he would visit in addition to Botswana, Namibia and Malawi, but he has decided to abandon his visits to the two countries at the 11th hour due to a tight schedule.

Zimbabwe had initially been pencilled in as the touras penultimate stop before it made its curtain call in Johannesburg, but both those shows have been shelved as Nyovest announced that he would be making the bow of what was supposed to be a 19-city extravaganza in Bloemfontein this weekend.

A member of Nyovestas management team and his official DJ Bash Vision revealed that they had decided to scrap his visit to Zimbabwe due to the fact that they needed to turn attention to his time consuming preparation for the Orlando Stadium extravaganza that is slated for 29 October.

a?Unfortunately the Zimbabwean leg of the tour is not happening anymore this time around but I can tell you that heall definitely make a plan to come again in future,a? he said.

Last year Nyovest made impressive appearances at the Shoko Festival in the capital and in Bulawayo early last year before performing in the star-studded Kalawa Homecoming during the festive season.

With that in mind, Bash said fans that had been promised another appearance by the star should be aware that Zimbabwe was not the only loser.

a?Nigeria is also no longer happening so are South African cities like Cape Town. Basically there are a few cities that were cancelled to focus on Orlando Stadium,a? he said.
