FC Platinum striker Obrey Chirwa could become the third player from the Zvishavane side to join Tanzania champions Young Africans after the Zambian import left the country yesterday for trials with the club.

The Tanzanian side requested to assess the player who has scored four goals so far this season. Young Africans are home to two Zimbabwean internationals, Thabani “Scara” Kamusoko and Donald “Dombo” Ngoma.

Chirwa left this mining town yesterday and he was expected to fly to Tanzania where he is expected to put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

He will be expected to join the squad members who were on a pre-season training camp in Turkey.

Yanga are expected to fly out of Turkey this afternoon to Algeria where they will wind up preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup. FC Platinum officials could not be reached for confirmation but Yanga club spokesperson, Jerry Muro, confirmed to The Herald that his club were interested in Zimbabwean internationals Kudakwashe Mahachi and Walter Musona.

“Musona is a fantastic player we need him and we need Mahachi. At the moment we are on Chirwa’s deal and Musona too.

“We have not yet finalised anything as yet,” said Muro. The Tanzanian team have reached the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
