LEADING giant retailer, OK Zimbabwe, last Saturday officially launched the OK Grand Challenge Jackpot promotion in Mutare which will see 44 cars — including a Nissan Navara — being up for grabs. The colourful launch was held in the city centre at the supermarket premises and was attended by many suppliers of participating products as well as customers.
The 27th edition of the promotion has already drawn thousands of customers from Mutare and beyond, who will be vying to win the cars, among other cash prices. It was a hive of activity at the launch with hundreds of customers taking part, buying some groceries on promotion.
There are coupons for a car draw, residential stands, cash draw, shop easy raffles, lucky dip, tote bet and horse forecaster.
The draw will be conducted on June 6 at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare.
In an interview, OK Zimbabwe Mutare Branch manager, Mr Gideon Mutopa, said business at the supermarket had vastly improved and had positively impacted on revenue.
“This year’s promotion is bigger and better. There are now 44 cars unlike last year. A posh Nissan Navara 4×4 has been included on the list of prizes to be won and one has to be at the Borrowdale Race Course on June 6 to win it.
“There are more than 100 participating products and one has to simply buy any of the products worth $5, get some coupons, fill in and stand a chance to win. We would like to appreciate the support we are getting from our valued customers,” he said.
OK Zimbabwe Mutare Branch buyer, Mrs Komborero Mukamba, said the criteria of this year’s promotion, just like any other year, was conducive for everyone to participate. “Our valued customers are excited and we are experiencing overwhelming support. They are buying different products with verve and confidence and we wish them all the best.
“The promotion runs till June 5,” said Mrs Mukamba. Several customers who spoke to The Manica Post expressed confidence that one — if not more — of the cars to be won will be won by a Mutare resident.
“We are happy that the (OK) Grand Challenge is back again and we are participating with confidence. We strongly hope that this year one of the cars will be won by a local resident. I am shopping here in OK because that’s where I buy my groceries and I have a feeling that some cars will come to Mutare,” said Lazarus Chirozva from Bernwin.
Leading newspaper company, Zimpapers, will be among the participating products where one has to buy any one of the five Zimpapers titles, The Herald, The Sunday Mail, The Manica Post, Sunday News and Chronicle and stand a chance to win a Nissan NP 300.
