POPULAR preacher Prophet Bruce Edwards has marked his birthday with a reflective message centred not on gifts, celebrations or personal achievements, but on the type of people he wants surrounding him in the next chapter of his life.

The prophet, who has built a strong following not only in the congregation, but on social media platforms such as TikTok through his relatable sermons and teachings, used the occasion to share lessons he has learnt over the years and a heartfelt prayer for the future.
Posting on his Facebook page, Prophet Edwards reflected on the value of maturity and the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people.

“Age is a high price to pay for maturity, for we are only young once, but can be immature for a lifetime. What I’ve gone through in life has taught me many lessons, and of the many lessons I have learnt, life is too short to be distracted by side attractions,” he wrote.
Drawing from biblical examples, the prophet highlighted how birthdays have often marked significant moments in history, some bringing promotion and blessings, while others resulted in tragedy.
“On his birthday, Pharaoh killed and he also promoted.
“On His birthday, Jesus received gifts of gold, silver and myrrh from the Magi.

“On his birthday, Herod’s daughter requested that the prophet be beheaded.
“On my birthday, Lord give me wise, anointed and God-fearing people around me,” he wrote.
The message resonated with many followers who flooded the comments section with birthday wishes and prayers.
Among those who celebrated the preacher was gospel musician Mai Mwamuka, who described him as a blessing to many.
“Thank you Lord for Prophet Bruce Edwards. A gift from God to the nations. Happy birthday Sir,” she wrote.
Her sentiments echo the views of many who credit the prophet with using social media to reach audiences beyond traditional church settings. Through short video sermons and online teachings, Prophet Edwards has attracted both churchgoers and non-churchgoers, earning a reputation as one of the country’s most influential digital-age preachers.
His wife, Pamela Edwards, also paid tribute to her husband with a heartfelt birthday message.
“Happy Birthday my love. May God bless you, keep you, and grant you favour, strength and good health,” she wrote.
