An 11-year-old hungry orphan from Emakhandeni was allegedly sexually violated at knife point by a city council employee after asking for R2 to buy plain buns.
The girl ran away from home and walked aimlessly at Emakhandeni Business Centre until she bumped onto the sex predator Xolani Mabhena (26) and asked for R2.
It is reported that Mabhena on seeing the desperate girl exploited the opportunity and enticed her to his house promising the money she had asked for.
When they got to Mabhenaa��s house he gave her the money and allegedly closed the door, gagged her mouth using a piece of cloth and raped her while wielding a knife threatening to kill her if she dared make any noise.
After the assault and her R2 pickings, she reportedly ran away and sought refuge at her aunta��s friend who made a police report.
Mabhena was dragged to court before regional magistrate Chrispen Mberewere farcing rape charges.A� He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to 20 September for continuation of trial.
