Outrage as Gweru City Park increases parking fees

Midlands Bureau

Gweru motorists have expressed outrage over the new parking fees by Gweru City Park saying it was now very expensive to spend a day in the Central Business District (CBD).

City Park recently announced a review of the parking fees from $80 to $100 per hour.

The new parking fees came into effect today.

“I work in the CBD and what this means is that I need $800 every day and it’s so ridiculous,” said a motorist, Mr Arnold Ndlovu.

Another resident, Ms Flora Ngwenya said it was now very expensive to be in the CBD with a vehicle.

“It means if you have hours to do business you have to park outside the CBD and walk into town because it’s now very expensive to buy a parking bay in the CBD,” she said.
