adminLONDON. — Emmanuel Adebayor has joined English Premier League soccer side Crystal Palace until the end of the season, the club announced on Tuesday.
“Crystal Palace are delighted to announce the signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor until the end of the season,” said a statement on the club’s website.
Togo striker Adebayor (31) was released from his contract at Tottenham Hotspur in September, but will now move from the north London side to south London top-flight rivals Palace.
Adebayor first came to the Premier League when he joined Arsenal from French side Monaco.
He joined Manchester City in a £25 million deal during 2009 before loan spells at Real Madrid and Spurs ahead of his permanent move to White Hart Lane in August 2012.
Palace are currently 11th in the English Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have agreed a £24,17 million deal to sell Ramires to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, according to reports in Brazil.
The move will become the highest transfer fee paid in China and comes just months after Ramires signed a new four-year contract.
The Brazil midfielder has started just seven English Premier League games this term, but was pivotal in helping Jose Mourinho’s side win the title last season.
He joined Chelsea from Benfica for £17 million in 2010. Jiangsu finished ninth in China’s top tier in 2015 and are managed by former Blues defender Dan Petrescu. — AFP.
