FOOTBALL fans attending the Young Warriors clash against Mauritius at the National Sports Stadium this evening will park their vehicles for free, ZIFA announced this morning.

The move comes just two days after supporters who drove to the same venue for the Warriors’ 2027 AFCON qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday were made to pay US$5 for parking.

In a statement released ahead of the Young Warriors’ Under-23 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius, ZIFA said free parking is part of enhanced match day arrangements aimed at easing access to the stadium.

“Parking will be free to help reduce congestion at the gates and ease vehicle access. Motorists are requested to follow the directions of parking attendants and security personnel,” ZIFA said.

The association also moved to address other match day challenges, announcing that all turnstiles and ticket scanners have been tested, while additional stewards and security personnel will be deployed.

ZIFA urged supporters to buy their tickets before travelling to the National Sports Stadium as there will be no ticket sales at the venue.

Fans have also been encouraged to arrive early, use the designated gates indicated on their tickets and have their tickets ready for scanning to ensure smooth entry.

The association said the measures are intended to provide a safe and orderly match day experience for supporters attending the Zimbabwe-Mauritius encounter.
